Steadfast Heart

Steadfast Heart
I've dreamed many dreams
that never came true
I've seen them vanish at dawn.
But I've realized enough of my dreams,
Thank God,
To make me want to dream on.

I've prayed many prayers
when no answer came,
Though I waited patient and long,
But answers have come
to enough of my prayers
To make me keep praying on.

I've trusted many a friend that failed,
And left me to weep alone,
But I've found enough of my friends true blue,
To make me keep trusting on.

I've sown many seeds
that fell by the way
For the birds to feed upon,
But I've held enough golden sheaves
in my hands,
To make me keep sowing on.

I've drained the cup
of disappointment and pain
And gone many ways without song,
But I've sipped enough nectar
from the roses of life
To make me want to live on.

I do not know how long I’ll live
But while I live, Lord let
me give.

Lizard report

My GF's son the other day asked his mother if she would like to help him with his science project. Our thought went immediately to the fear that it was due tomorrow as he asks us at 9 in the evening.

Not due for another 5 days, apparently he's only known about it since yesterday. . . hmmmm.

"What's it about?"

"Lizards"

I mention that she should hook him up with our office receptionist that raises bearded dragons. We talk to her at the office and it just so happens there is a reptile show this weekend that she is attending. Great.

I'm on call so I rush through the morning so that we can leave at a decent hour.
I get home and we pile in the car.

"Do you have all the questions that you need to ask?"

"What questions?"

The questions for your project?

I already wrote my project on blizzards.

"uh B-lizzards?"

Jenny and I look at each other in disbelief . . . . well it was a good laugh . . .
